Quick visit - and Birthday card

Just a quick visit as have had a very busy day! (actually yesterday!) Seemed to have so many small jobs to do spent all day rushing about. Moved the electric fence for the horses so that they can stay out longer tomorrow - House Move Day!! Could be a long one, and I should be in bed. This card was made for my Godsons' birthday, I sometimes find male cards difficult, especially if they haven't a particular interest. Quite enjoyed having a play around, lots of bits and bobs on this one. Got to go. Back soon. x

Horse dentist - and New Home!

Well, after spending THREE hours yesterday titivating, brushing, and tidying the two horses, I then waited, and waited, and waited, until eventually, decided to check the calendar, and yes, the dentist  was due today! Grrr...never mind, the horses enjoyed it, and they do look lovely, and he did come today, so... only the house move on Saturday now! This is the card that I made for Katys' new home... the stamp is from the "Neighbours" range by Polkadoodles, lovely stamps, coloured with promarkers, matted onto spotty card from Pinflair, I think, then onto rainbow shimmer card from cardcreationsplus. Matted onto craft card, finished with orange ribbon and button, then sentiment from LOTV. Now, what's coming up next.....after the move, that is! Keep smiling, back soon. x

Busy, busy! and Wedding cards.

Well, have had a couple of busy days. Katy is moving house next Saturday, but they got the keys last weekend. Wow, what a mess, they were told that the house was empty (which it was) and they'd finished cleaning(which they definitely hasn't!) In fact, didn't look as if they'd even started! Katy and I spent 4 hours there yesterday, and I spent another four hours there today while she was at work, and then four of them will finish it tomorrow evening. Makes me really mad, what are these people thinking of? How can they expect someone to move into a filthy house? Anyway, rant over. Have had to make a new home card quickly, I'll put it on tomorrow.
Made these cards for my nephews' wedding in April. Used the Indigoblu map stamp on the white one, as his fiancee lives in the Lakes, and they're getting married in Windermere. No new baby yet! Back soon. x

Card for Katy

Made this card for my daughters' 30th birthday, wasn't exactly sure how I wanted it to turn out, but this is what I ended up with! I'll try to give a quick breakdown of the items I used on it, so..Centura Pearl card to make the base, then a mat cut out of the same, with colour reversed, and edged with Martha Stewart punch. On top of that there is a Dream background that ended up covered! then gossamer from Clarity Stamps. I then matted the sentiment, the birthday message,(from LOTV) and the numbers onto embossed white vellum. The large butterfly, which is a Cheery Lynn die from Joanna Sheen, has a vellum layer behind it, onto which I printed and gilded using Indigoblu script stamp, Flitter glue and flakes, which were also used on the numbers and the birthday sentiment. The decoupaged flower on the right is stamped with Indigoblu "Nature 1, and finished as before. Small butterflies are Joycraft dies from Maddylisa Crafts, coloured with Stickles, and the bird is a Tim Holtz stamp, covered with gossamer as before. Flowers and hatpin from Wild Orchid, pearls and ribbon from Joanna Sheen, and butterfly charm from stash. It's growing on me! Right, have to go and have a shower, still smell horsey from before! Keep smiling. x

Really pleased-but not to do with crafting!

I'm feeling very pleased. The sun is shining, and actually feels warm, I'm going out for tea, that makes a nice change, and.... I've sat on my youngster for the third time today. Should really have started him before now, but had a lot of problems last year, so had to delay. Am getting him used to being sat on, and he's being a little star! Sorry if you're not horsey, you probably think I'm mad, but if you are you'll understand! Don't photos give you a shock, have now very definitely decided that a visit to the hairdresser is an absolute must, where did that scruffy old lady come from?!! Sorting next post out now, yes, have actually finished Katys' birthday card. Back soon.

Last baby card - honest!

Okay, this is the last baby card, then onto something different, maybe daughters' birthday card which is almost finished. This is an image from Lili of the Valley - "Baby Blanket" Thought it was rather cute, stamped onto Nestie die-cut, and coloured with promarkers. Matted onto card embossed with Sizzix embossing folder from set Baby 3, edges punched with Martha Stewart punch. Then onto yellow dotty paper from stash, blue stripy paper from "New Arrivals" - Forever Friends, and onto pale blue card stock. Finished with buttercup Liquid Pearls, and baby embellishments and ribbon from Meiflower. Right then, all we need now is the baby, no, he hasn't arrived yet! x

Third baby card!

This is the third baby card that I've finished for my grandson-to-be. Started with a gatefold card blank, matted papers onto front and back, inside from "New Arrivals" from Forever Friends, and the front from stash. The die-cuts on the front include Nesties - Lace Doilly - and the stork and baby are from Joycraft. The sentiment belongs to the image inside, and are from Lili of the Valley- Sweet Dreams. Edging cut with Martha Stewart punch. Inside I coloured the image with promarkers, and matted onto a blue pearlescent paper embossed with dots, and onto silver mirri embossed the same. The lace trim underneath matches the front edges. The teddy blanket is from Meiflower, and the letters, the horse and the pin are from a baby set of wooden diecuts from Handy Hippo. The bunting is made with a "New Arrivals" stamp, ribbon from Joanna Sheen, charm and stars from stash. The back is paper from N.A as before, matted onto card, and the same punched edge. I then made an envelope from vellum, to put the greeting in, embossing the edges, and a piece of irridiscent cord to close it. Finished with silver candi and stickles.
Talking about grandsons, I've had my four-year old grandson, Oscar all day today, and am absolutely frazzled after spending the afternoon outside with him. Firstly we moved the electric fence for the horses, then I had to push him around the paddock on his tractor, as it was a bit rough for him to pedal! Oh, my poor back. Then we did the stables, and he rode his bike around, so was I glad when mummy came just after tea-bless him. All for today. Keep smiling x

Second Baby Card!

For this one I stamped the All our Dreams image from Lili of the Valley onto a Go Kreate die-cut, and yes, coloured it with promarkers. Assembled mats with ribbon and flower trim from stash, onto a mat made with Martha Stewart PATP - Wild Flowers. Then onto stripy paper from Forever Friends - New Arrivals papers, onto blue paper from stash, onto lemon card blank, with edges decorated with New Arrivals stamps. Stamped the sentiment onto a Marianne Circlets die-cut, finished with perfect pearls, lemon ribbon and daisy from stash. x

Spring is in the Air - challenge!

Hi
Have finally plucked up courage to enter a blog challenge! I've entered (or tried to-not sure that it's worked properly!) this card for the March-Spring is in the Air challenge on Joanna Sheens' blog.  It's another of the new "Bella" stamps from Wild Rose Studio, just couldn't resist it, especially as my new grandson is due anytime now. Cut a shaped card blank, stamped image on matching Nestie die-cut, coloured with Promarkers, matted onto "Bella" paper, with a trim from Martha Stewart "daisy" punch and onto silver mirri board. Stamped sentiment to match. Finished with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a few gems, and lemon satin ribbon from stash.

Still have more baby cards to put on, see if I can manage another later. x

Mothering Sunday!

Hello again
I'm feeling very tired as I hardly slept last night, leg playing up! However, no more moaning, life's too short. I've finished my other baby cards, but thought I'd show you this card first. A Mothers' Day card for Oscar to give to his mum. I'm loving these Bella stamps from Wild Rose Studio.
Stamped "Bella and Flowers" onto a Nestie die-cut, and coloured with Promarkers. Mounted onto a Hunkydory card blank, edged with chalk, with "Bella" backing paper, and striped paper and lemon flower trim from stash. Baby elephant holding sign, and tiny hearts and flowers were cut with a Sizzix die. Stamped sentiment onto Nestie flower, mounted onto paper flower, added dewdrop from Polkadoodles. Finished with lemon satin ribbon and square brad by Woodware.
Unfortunately my mum isn't around any more, and we lost Jims' mum just before Christmas, so this is the first year without a Mum! Feels quite odd. However, my eldest son James, turned up last night with an early Mothers' Day present. He competes in Motocross, and has a meeting on Sunday, to which he did invite me, bless him! Bearing in mind that the last time I went to watch him he got run over, I politely declined! My other son, and daughter, are coming over tomorrow, so should have a nice day. Haven't yet managed to play with my new Joanna "Lace" stamp, so am hoping I find an hour tonight to do so, if I can stay awake.
Just before I go, I'd just like to say to my two mums'-Still missing you, and wishing you were here, and sending lots of love.x And to all mums' everywhere, wishing you all a very happy Mothering Sunday. x

Baby Card

Okay, animals fed and watered, and all in bed, so a little blog time! For my first card, I thought I'd show you this one that I've made for my soon-to-be new Grandson, arrival possibly imminent. He's not due for another four weeks, but the first one was sixteen days early, so who knows! I've got another three almost finished, so need to get on with them just in case. (Cards, not babies!)
The image is from Forever Friends "New Arrival" set, stamped onto Elegance cardstock from Joanna Sheen, and coloured with Promarkers. I added flower soft to the nappy. Embossed background with "Baby" set by Sizzix, highlighted with Colorbox "daffodil" ink. Backing paper from "Babies" set by Printable Heaven. All mounted onto pale blue cardstock from Handy Hippo. Finished with bows, pearl, and faux stitching using Wink of Stella pen. Okay,  bed-time methinks, back soon. x

Not as planned!

Well, today didn't go as planned, but then, that seems to happen quite a lot. Could be something to do with animals and children maybe? My plan was to get organised, chores done and then attempt to put my first card on my blog. My timetable was meant to read:
Feed dog, cats and horses, then myself.
Take Oscar, my four- year old grandson, to school. His mum, my daughter Katy, drops him off three days a week, and I take him to school. See to horses, do stables and prepare the days feeds, sort any washing, make 'phone calls, check shopping list, check e-mails, wait excitedly for postman if I'm expecting a parcel from Joanna, and anything else that may crop up. Then, if I'm lucky, I find a couple of hours spare for crafting, but, not today.
Kit-kat, the Siamese, has had sore ears for a couple of days, and when this morning it was obvious that they were getting worse, a trip to the vet became inevitable. I gave him a couple of days to see if an abcess was forming - yuk! - as he's a bit of a bruiser if allowed,  but nothing appeared, so off to the vet for ear drops and an injection. So I am now aiming to get a card on for tomorrow. Oh, and my parcel from Joanna did arrive, always such brilliant service. It's my lace stamp that I ordered, and am desperate to get playing with it. Looks like it could be a late night again!  'till next time...keep smiling. x

Managed it at last!

Ta-dah...I've finally started my blog! Still not certain that I know what I'm doing, but I'm sure that all you nice people out there will continue to point me in the right direction, and let me know when I get it wrong, and maybe when I get it right. I really enjoy reading others' blogs, and thought I'd like to give it a go. Quite isolated where I live, so would be nice to make friends and have visitors this way. Please pop in when you have a minute and see how I'm doing. I'm hoping to have an assortment of crafty makes and ramblings, so, on that note, I'd better go and sort out the animals, and then get crafting. Oh, yes, and see if I can figure out how to put photos on here! Keep smiling.
